Bittu's your uncle

It was the Christmas vacation of 2007 going on, I was sitting on the veranda of my house watching the kids playing cricket in the road next to my house, something which we started there some 12 years back, when I was in 6th std. as we were amongst the first residents of Kamlanagar. Suddenly some body hit the ball and it landed in our house, I came out of my thoughts and was looking for the ball to return it to the kids. I saw a very cute looking boy of some 7-8 years coming towards me, he said "Uncle mai ball le loon (Uncle shall I take the ball)". I was shocked and was looking at him with my face having an awestruck look, somebody said from behind "are ye uncle nahi hai ye to bhaiya hai, abhi inki shaadi nahi hui hai, shaadi ke baad ye uncle ho jayenge, haina bhaiya"( He is not uncle yet coz he is not married, after marriage he will be uncle). I quietly picked up the ball and gave them, and came back and told this to my Mom, I am just 21, Mummy and we both started laughing and I realised that when I was of their age I used to address people of those age in same manner. And now on 9th sep 2008, I was officially crowned the tag of Chacha for my sweet sweet niece has stepped into this world of ours. So no more fearing from hearing somebody saying me that, coz I am officially one now. My niece is an amazing kid and was just 3.6kg when she was born!!!!! After all Bob's not her uncle, bittu's her uncle.

There is a huge discussion in the family going on for what should we call her, I prefer her nickname to be Gappu or Maggi, coz she is just like that ekdum
GOL GAPPA and as sweet as a kid can be. I would appreciate if you people can suggest some nicks for her......

Hotel California

There is something damn special about this song, my words for praising or giving you the stats will fall short for sure, for that refer wikipedia.  I would like to mention that Navpreet sang HC in Peerless Inn and I missed that. People said it was damn good. There are very good rumors about this song which I feel are worth mentioning here.

1)  The Eagles song "Hotel California" is about a real Hotel California in Baja California. The Eagles stayed there, wrote music there, they spent money, did drugs, and fooled around with tons of women they didn't remember the next day there. All of the partying, the air of hedonism and monetary excess, made them feel a little uneasy after a while. The song is a warnings to other young artists not to fall into the same trap.
2) The basic premise is that the song is about a Christian church that was abandoned (or otherwise vacated) in 1969, and was taken over by an occultic group (usually Satan worshippers). For some unknown reason, it became known as the "Hotel of California".
3) Eagles are Satan worshippers, and that Satan appears in the window on the "Hotel California" album jacket.
4) Eagle's megaplatinum song "Hotel California" was about Aleister Crowley's mansion near Loch Ness, and the weird goings-on that supposedly happened there; including such "clues" as the line "...they stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill The Beast" (Crowley's nickname). It's even been said that if you look on the album cover, you can see Satanic High Preist Anton LeVey in one of the windows.

Some more if you aren't satisfied..... there is some more in store for you:

  • The Eagles were well-known Satan worshippers.
  • "The Eagles" can be rearranged to spell "gales (of) heet," meaning the winds of hell.
  • An old Christian church in California was abandoned in 1969 and taken over by the Church of Satan. It is this church that is referred to by the lyrics, "We haven't had the spirit here since 1969," and "This could be Heaven, this could be Hell."
  • It is in this church that Anton LeVey (referred to as "the master" in the song) wrote The Satanic Bible, and because he let his followers stay there while he was writing, it became known as the Hotel California.
  • The lyric, "They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the Beast," refers to the enduring power of Satan.
  • Members of the Church of Satan often have to lie about their membership (just as they are encouraged to lie as a matter of course), and this is referred to in the lyric, "What a nice surprise, bring your alibis."
  • Church of Satan members take an oath that is binding even after their death, hence the lyrics, "You can check out at any time you like, but you can never leave" and "We are all just prisoners here of our own device."
  • On the Hotel California album jacket, High Priest of the Church of Satan Anton LeVey appears in one of the windows.
  • On the back of the album cover a dead man -- sacrificed by LeVey himself -- is shown propped up by a mop.
  • The Hotel California album was a best seller, which it couldn't have been without help from the forces of darkness.

  • I wonder if any of these is true though Don Henley has denied it. But there is certainly a Hotel California located at Todos Santos, Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico.

These are the pics of Hotel California, and they quite resemble on in the Album cover, don't they? I wish if i could I can go to The Hotel California, stay there and listen to the song.
    Whatte fun it would be!!!
