OG OG, Lojee, Padho jee

Well folks this post is for a contest entry and originally belongs to only gizmos, but you will enjoy reading it.

"I always feel jealous of my dog when the beautiful girls next door play with him and I stand there watching. The bugger even goes to their home whenever he likes and plays with them. I would love to be that dog if i am reincarnated. For now I have found this amazing device that would get me close to them, at-least virtually :P.

The pet’s eye view digital camera takes pics every 1,5 or 5 minutes. Just hang it to your pet’s neck and let him roam around while the camera takes pics of what your pet has been upto. It has an 8MB internal memory (not expandable, unfortunately) that stores your pics. It is a plug-and-play device, has a USB rechargable lithium-ion battery and is PC and Mac compatible."

Phew, interesting, isn't it??.
Now if you too want this lovely and so very useful gadget then drop a comment, and either me or my dear friend Annkur may be of help to you.

In love with Kala Khatta

After watching the video of the song "Aksa beach ghuma doon" I was very excited to be there when I first landed in Mumbai, as it is pretty close to the place where I stay in Mumbai. With a plan to spend a saturday evening just playing football in the beach, and having the stills of the clear water beach with babes like Pri Chops from the video song in mind, we went Aksa beach. The way was not very long as its just some 3 -3.5 Kms from our apartment. We reached Aksa beach and could hear some noises from the Arabian Sea. As we neared the beach I could see the filth and dirt lying all over and the stalls of Bhelpuri, Barf ka gola , Bhutta, Panipuri etc. But I was certainly disappointed as the beach was quite dirty and the white sand as you could see in the video, was actually quite black, even the water was muddy and at the shore you can even find articles such as slippers, socks, cans etc. in the water. Only later I came to know, as was suspected, that the song was actually shot at some beach in Thailand. Well to come over the disappointment, we started playing football. It was fun. And the sun was about to set, without missing any opportunity I clicked a few pics. Whatever be the condition of the beach, but the Sunset there is very beautiful.

After we finshed our game we went to have the extremly famous Kala Khatta flavor of Barf ka Gola, and believe me you will just love that. It is too good, I had it for the first time, but would love to have it again and again. I also thought that one of the lines in the song Aksa beach "Chacha ki chai pila doon aa chalti kya?" can be replaced with "Tujhe Kala Khatta khila doon, aa chalti kya?". I am certainly a Kala Khatta fan now and if you haven't had it, then just go and have and thank me for telling you this.

Bon Vi-vant II - Lord of cricket's cuisine

Its been a dream since long to be here. Tendulkar's in Mumbai is certainly a place to be for the cricket lovers. People who Breath cricket, Laugh cricket, Play cricket, Live cricket should definitely come here to eat cricket as well. The ambiance of Tendulkar's is just too good, and you can feel the cricket in the waves. The interirors are just perfect with even the table bottoms and the salt sprinklers in the shape of Stumps. The restaurant has a very stylish entrance, its bluish and reddish lit up passage.

For a Bon Vi-vant, the taste is just like any other good restaurant in town, but the menu is good, with the dishes named after cricket legends as well. We had buffet and it was at a decent price, with decent taste. The Loo is stylish with Ladies and Lords display on the door. The bar has got a very cool and frenzy look, with grafitti wall having sports legend and events posters, and also has a huge glass wall with the famous line of Bradman and his wife on it.

There are various show pieces belonging to sachin, and a few replica of the trophies he has won. A stump split into two parts and having the messages from all the mates after Sachin reached the record of 34 Test centuries. There are many such things on display, and so the place proves to be a dream land for the die hard Sachin fans like me. The entrance also has the Palm prints of the Lord himself. The menu and the decor is what sachin likes and is in the way he wants it to be.
First floor has a souvenir shop where you can purchase gifts for your loved ones, which were a bit expensive to me. The restaurant is very close to Gateway of India, just above the Cotton Emporium. Don't try to find with google map, it will confuse you. Just reach near Gateway of India and ask someone. Believe me cricket lovers, even if you don't enjoy the food you won't mind being there. It's surely a place to be for fun with friends and family and the pleasure multiplies if folks with you are ardent cricket fans !!!

Loaction: Above Cotton Emporium, near Gateway of India, Colaba.

Bon Vi-vant I - Royal Indian Delicacies

If your tongue longs for Royal Indian Non Vegetarian delicacies, then the original Karim's behind Gate no 1, Gali Kababiyan, Jama Masjid, Delhi is the place to be. Last month I was in Delhi with my friends and what better place to suffice my appetite than Kareem's. I have been to Kareem's in Mumbai too but all those chain of restaurents lack the very taste of the original royal kitchen of the common people, behind Jama Masjid. We ordered Chicken Biryani, Keema Masala and Rumali Roti. It was yummy, and royal. Seriously although I was missing Keema which my Mom makes but this was a different taste al together.

A brief history of the Hotel : When the last Mughal King Bahadur Shah Zafer was dethroned. The Karim's ancestors to save themselves from the fury of the British, fled from the Lal Quila and took shelter in the vicinity now called Farukhnagar, district Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, there they lived in disguise trying the different types of livelihood, simultaneously the father never forgot to inherit the fine art of cooking the "Royal Food" to his son.
In 1911, when Delhi Durbar was held for the coronation of the King George V, Haji Karimuddin moved back to Delhi with an innovative idea of opening a Dhaba to cater the people coming from allover India to join the coronation. Haji Karimuddin started the Dhaba selling just two items of Alu Gosht and Daal served with Rumali Roti.

And they never looked back after it. It is currently run by the 4th generation of the family and has transformed to a Pvt. Ltd. firm. The man in the pic beside is preparing Nihari and Paya which again are the exclusive dishes of Kareem's. Nihari stand for a breakfast dish, it originates from the word Nihar, which means morning and the dish was eaten late morning. origin of Nihari is from delhi and then it moved to parts of Pakistan. The experience in Kareem's was too good and then we hired Rickshaw and roamed around in Chandni Chowk. It was great fun.
Location : Gali Kababiyan, street opposite to Gate no 1 of Jama Masjid, Old Delhi
