Clicked by me while rushing towards Malad station in an auto rickshaw around 7 in the morning. I was thinking about the tiring day and knew that will have terrible pain in my legs by the time I come back. But when I saw this I got doubly invigorated.
Guys guys guys, are you in Mumbai, have you tried Papa pancho da dhaba??? Not yet, then please do go and treat yourself there. I did that today and god promise, literally god promise, the taste is irresistible. Located at Pali Naka Bandra, just opposite to HDFC Bank, quite convinient to reach there.
Now let me tell you about the ambience. They have tried to give it a Punjabi road side dhaba look, with "charpais" as well for seating. The lights are dim and the attire of the waiters are of orthodox Punjabis which even they don't wear. The utensils used are all brass, and they even serve you in Brass plates and the glass for serving water had the typical "chai ka glass" look. The most interesting part is the "Today's Special" menu which they bring written on a slate. Huh ! this was really good.
Talking about the food. You don't have much options here on the menu, only Punjabi, and that too truly dil se. Whatever dish you order comes with a combo of Dal Makhni, Dahi, Laccha paratha or Rice. Apart from these you can order anything extra which you want, and also the starters and coolers as well. What I ordered was Chicken makhni with Lachha paratha combo. And a Lassi alongwith it. You have to believe me in this, that I have never had Lachha Paratha better than this anywhere. It was truly delicious, so was the chicken makhni. Oomph, I can still feel the taste in my mouth. The glass of lassi was actually a patiala one, so took me quite some time to finish it. A too good experience, a must go place if you are treating your friends. The dishes are priced judiciously, with Veg thali starting from 140 bucks and Nonveg from 220 Bucks.
Location: Opposite to HDFC Bank, Pali Naka, Bandra West, Mumbai Damage: Rs. 424
I mean the looks of my blog. I haven't met Gosu, but would surely like to thank him for his efforts, he is doing a commendable job and this theme is a work of him. I will now carry on with this theme. Let us see how long it goes. Although struggled a bit with getting the date corrected in the posts, but realized that it was due to the Time stamping problem.
Nevertheless, my blog is ready and up with this new theme, and few important things to mention::: Its been 3 years since @twitter was launched, Its been 13 years since space shuttle Atlantis was launched and took Shannon M. W. Lucid and other Astronauts for 188 days long expedition, to MIR. Its been 23 years since I was born(don't wanna grow more old, help !!!) Its been 33 years since India last defeated the Black Caps in New Zealand, last time they did this was in 1976, and we have won the test in New Zealand today. Well I could fill up with more such junks from Wikipedia, but I don't want you to loose interest from my blog. So I better stop the stats here.
Yeah its my birthday today, missing my family, missing college friends, school buddies too and thinking of the best birthdays which I have celebrated. People say its lonely at the top, but its lonely here too, may be its a pit, or may be pit with a cock, I mean cockpit dear, to fly along with the speed of this world. Huh !!! Too philosophical thought.
Every year on my and my brother's birthday, we used to go to a photo studio for a special snap dressed with the clothes purchased exclusively for the day, Dad is having a collection of them. It discontinued since I was 17, and went out of our town for studies. We always started planning a month before, and waited eagerly for the day. Specially my bro, always filled with so many ideas for gifts etc. All my favorite dishes were cooked and I gave the chance for my bro's dishes also (but only sometimes), the smile which we had on our face during that day was all which Mom Dad wanted to see.Sometimes in our lives such small memories make us happier for a longer time.
Dunno whats in store for me in Mumbai today. Thanks Gosu for this gift, and to all those who have made my life worth living. Mom is to call me at 6:59 AM so have to sleep now. That's my birth time by the way.....
So you are thinking right??? but you won't be able to come up with an answer until you visit the Kala Ghoda Art festival in Mumbai. Went there on 15Feb09. It is surely a place to be, and guess what Abhijit Sawant and Shaan rocked the evening with their fabulous performances. Everything for everyone. A fun place to be.
Its been almost 26 hours now and the Police along with the military and the NSG commandos are on mission at the Taj Mahal Hotel and Oberoi Hotel. It is indeed a nightmare for many of us. These are the worst and the most dare attacks, sheer failure of Intelligence of Police, and great work of unity by the Mumbaikars and the Hotel Staff, and equally shameful act by the politicians, who are still busy justifying their correctness, and still giving statements to earn some votes. With all this happening in the financial capital in India, nothing is going to stop, because Mumbai never sleeps, and people will be out with same enthusiasm to work. For the first time ever the Stock Markets were closed in India, due to any king of terror attack. Wonder the Dalal Street and with what indices the exchanges open in the morning.
All said and done, but the damage has already been done. The landmark hotels of Mumbai, which were Icons of the city since a long time were set ablaze by a few crazy guys. Have a look at these. Me and Lokesh were planing to visit Cafe Leopold which is a very famous Restaurant and is also very famous amongst the tourists, has also been stormed by the terrorists, In fact it all started from there. I hope it reopens soon after all this ends. I also wish and pray and request you to do the same for the great politicians of the country, who have started playing there dirty game of Islamic terrorism and Hindu terrorism. Please give them some brains. These pics are from an avid blogger http://arunshanbhag.com/
One last word, do watch the movie A Wednesday, and Mumbai Meri Jaan, they will revive the spirit to fight against our very own conscience, jostled by these attacks.
